Analysis of used heat transfer media

DIN 51529 deals with the testing and evaluation of used heat transfer fluids. The standard describes various test methods that can be used to assess quality and suitability.
In principle, the above-mentioned analytical testing with regard to quality and suitability is a regulatory requirement for the safety of heat transfer systems (with organic heat transfer media). These must be tested at least once a year in accordance with DIN 4754 and VDI guideline 3033 for continued suitability for use.

Our service package:

With our comprehensive analytical services in accordance with DIN 51529, we support you in analyzing your heat transfer media.

  • Determination of kinematic viscosity
  • Determination of flash point – Pensky-Martens method with closed crucible
  • Determination of the neutralization number
  • Determination of the neon-evaporable residue at reduced pressure
  • Determination of the water content according to Karl Fischer
  • Determination of thermostability using GC

Detect contamination caused by thermal and/or oxidative decomposition processes of the medium in good time – safety risks, cost-intensive repairs and operational disruptions can be avoided! Minimize your time and costs as well as the risk of unexpected downtimes.

Important note: Correct sampling and packaging is relevant for the analysis results. Please adhere to the specifications or ask if you are unsure. The same applies if you require special individual or supplementary analyses.
